Waterproof Flooring

100% Worry Free - Waterproof flooring from the Industry's Leading Brands

Waterproof flooring mimics the look of natural products like wood or stone and provides a wide array of decors that can be installed almost anywhere. Its rigid core can be installed in traditionally moist or wet areas like kitchens, baths, mudrooms, and basements. However, it also provides a natural maintenance alternative in family rooms and dining areas as well. When it's waterproof, it's worry-proof!

Many waterproof floors come with acoustical backing and are quieter to walk on than engineered hardwoods or laminate flooring, making it an excellent choice for kid's bedrooms and playrooms, apartment floors, or offices and home studies. Anywhere that requires a peaceful environment.

Waterproof flooring typically has four layers.*

  1. Wear layer. The wear layer protects against excessive wear and scratches. It is designed to be easy to clean and is often stain-resistant.
  2. Luxury Vinyl. The luxury vinyl layer is made to be exceptionally durable, resilient, and able to resist chips and dents. This layer is also where high-quality imagery is printed on.
  3. Rigid Core. The rigid core is 100% waterproof layer made from a wood plastic/polymer composite (WPC) or a with a solid polymer core (SPC). Either way, the rigid core is dimensionally stable and will not expand and contract under normal conditions.
  4. Backing layer. The attached underlayment provides added sound insulation and adds comfort underfoot. Often it is made of cork, which is naturally mold and mildew resistant.

*Can vary between manufacturers.

Coastal Floors does not carry every style of waterproof flooring. Check with them first about a particular product or to see if your product choice is available for special order.
